Terms and Conditions of Services

By booking a service with Altitude Tuning, you (“the customer”) agree to the following Terms and Conditions with Altitude Tuning (“we,” “our,” “us,” "I"). These Terms govern all services provided by Altitude Tuning and are legally binding upon your booking submission. If you do not agree, do not proceed with booking.
1. Scope of Services
Altitude Tuning offers professional tuning services for skis and snowboards, including but not limited to:
- Edge sharpening (machine and/or hand)
- Base grinding (belt)
- Hot waxing (machine or hand iron)
- P-Tex base repairs
- General cleaning and gear maintenance
We do not perform:
- Major structural repairs (stone grinds, delaminations, epoxy)
- Binding mounting/remounting or DIN setting
- Safety certifications (e.g., indemnification)
2. Booking Agreement
By submitting a booking form, booking a service over the phone, email, text message or in person:
- You acknowledge that you are the legal owner of the equipment or have the legal right to authorize its service.
- You authorize Altitude Tuning to perform services as selected in your booking request or as deemed necessary by staff after inspection.
- You agree to pay all applicable service fees at or before pickup.
3. Customer Obligations
Customers must:
- Accurately describe their equipment condition and service needs.
- Deliver equipment in clean, dry condition (excess dirt, salt, or rust may incur an additional cleaning fee).
- Disclose any known damage, modifications, or issues with the gear.
- Drop off and pick up equipment on the agreed timeline.
- Keep their contact information accurate and responsive during the service period.
4. Drop-Off and Pick-Up Policy
Drop-offs and pickups must occur at the scheduled time and location.
Equipment left longer than 14 days after the scheduled pick-up date will incur a $5/week storage fee.
Equipment unclaimed after 30 days may be deemed abandoned. We reserve the right to dispose of, resell, or donate such gear after providing reasonable notice (via email, phone, or text).
5. Cancellations, No-Shows, and Rescheduling
You may cancel or reschedule your booking up to 24 hours in advance with no penalty.
No-shows, late drop-offs, or last-minute cancellations may result in:
- A 25% cancellation fee or forfeiture of any prepayment.
- Rescheduling based on availability.
Altitude Tuning may cancel or delay service due to equipment failure, weather, power outages, or emergencies, and will notify customers as early as possible.
6. Payment Terms
Payment is due in full upon pickup, unless otherwise agreed.
Accepted payment methods: cash, or Venmo.
Service prices are subject to change and do not include sales tax unless stated.
Non-payment will result in withholding of gear until payment is received.
Returned payments or chargebacks may incur additional fees.
7. Refund and Satisfaction Policy
Due to the nature of tuning services, all sales are final once equipment is returned to the customer.
If you are dissatisfied, contact us within 48 hours of pickup. We will evaluate reasonable claims and, at our discretion, may offer:
- A complimentary adjustment/re-service
- A partial refund (not guaranteed)
Refunds will not be issued for customer misuse, improper storage, or gear failure unrelated to our service.
8. Liability and Damage Waiver
By using our services, you agree that:
- Altitude Tuning is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage, or loss caused by the use of your equipment after servicing.
- You assume all risk inherent in skiing/snowboarding and release Altitude Tuning from liability for accidents or injuries resulting from equipment use.
We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage
- Hidden defects or damage uncovered during service
- Damage due to rust, delamination, cracked edges, or prior poor repairs
- Performance dissatisfaction due to snow conditions or user error
We treat all equipment with care, but minor cosmetic damage (e.g., belt marks, scuffs) may occur as part of normal tuning procedures.
9. Abandoned Equipment Policy
After 30 days with no customer response, equipment is considered abandoned.
A final notice will be sent. If unclaimed after 7 additional days, we reserve the right to:
- Sell, donate, or dispose of the gear
- Recover unpaid service or storage fees from proceeds (if sold)
10. Privacy and Communication
We collect your name, email, phone number, and address for service-related communications only.
By booking, you agree to receive service updates via SMS, email, or phone.
We may use your contact info to send seasonal promotions or service reminders. You can opt out anytime by contacting us or replying STOP to messages.
11. Weather, Delays, and Force Majeure
Altitude Tuning is not responsible for service delays due to:
- Power outages
- Severe weather (snowstorms, flooding, etc.)
- Transportation delays or equipment malfunction
- Natural disasters, government actions, or other force major events
12. Website, Promotions, and Content
Prices, service descriptions, and availability on our website or marketing material are subject to change without notice.
Coupons, promotions, and discounts must be applied at the time of booking. They are not valid retroactively unless explicitly stated.
13. Modifications to Terms
These Terms and Conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
The current version will always be available on our website.
Continuing to book services implies acceptance of the latest version.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any disputes shall be handled in a court of competent jurisdiction within Essex County, MA.
15. Acceptance
By submitting a booking form, you agree that:
- You have read and understood these Terms and Conditions.
- You are 18 years of age or older, or have the permission of a parent/guardian.
- You agree to be bound by all policies stated herein.
